Probe finds that Nigerian businessman did four previous penis enlargement sessions before fatal episode
Official investigations into the death of 43-year-old Nigerian-British businessman and social media personality Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo have revealed that he underwent five separate cosmetic procedures prior to his sudden passing in Bangkok.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, by Thailand’s Department of Health Service Support (DHSS), Ubiribo had been a client at a cosmetic clinic on Rama 1 Road in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district since 2024.
The public update follows directives from Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat to examine medical safety compliance at private clinics operating in the capital.
Timeline of the medical incident
Official records outline that Ubiribo received four filler procedures between 2024 and 2025. His fifth and final appointment occurred on March 5, 2026, during which 40cc of dermal filler was injected into his penis.
Clinic representatives stated during the inquiry that attending doctors had advised splitting the 40cc volume across two separate sessions. However, officials report that Ubiribo requested to complete the entire treatment in a single sitting and signed the required consent documents.
Later that day, following the procedure and a subsequent massage session, emergency medical technicians were dispatched to a private hospital in the Sukhumvit district after Ubiribo lost consciousness.
Suspected medical complications
Hospital clinicians suspected a pulmonary embolism or blood clot prior to attempting diagnostic imaging.
“Due to suspicions of a blood clot, the medical team prepared to perform a high-speed CT Angiogram with contrast dye,” the DHSS statement detailed. “During preparation, the patient was unconscious with no detectable pulse. Resuscitation efforts were performed without response, confirming the patient’s death.”
Regulatory oversight and next steps
DHSS Director-General Phuwadej Surakhot confirmed that investigators from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and health ministry inspected the Pathum Wan facility on September 7 to gather evidence and review operating protocols.
The findings are being compiled to evaluate professional medical practice standards. Once finalised, the case file will be transmitted to the Medical Council of Thailand for a formal administrative review to determine whether standard care protocols were maintained.
