Tiphaine Auzière, the 42-year-old daughter of French First Lady Brigitte Macron, has publicly confirmed her relationship with 22-year-old business student and watersports instructor Antoine Lecomte.
The romance has drawn significant public attention and media commentary across France due to the striking similarity to her mother’s famous age-gap marriage with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Romantic getaway to Amsterdam confirms relationship
The couple made their relationship public on social media following a 48-hour road trip to the Netherlands in a campervan.
Auzière and Lecomte shared candid footage visiting art exhibitions and exploring Amsterdam, concluding their trip with a stay at the Faralda Hotel.
Captioning a clip shared on his personal account, Lecomte wrote: “48h à Dam avec Madame” (“48 hours in Amsterdam with Madam”).
Summer encounter in Le Touquet
According to reports by French outlet Gala, the pair first met earlier in the summer in the coastal resort town of Le Touquet—a long-standing retreat for the Macron family.
Lecomte, a business administration student at NEOMA Business School in Lille and founder of a kitesurfing equipment venture, was working as a watersports instructor when he taught Auzière how to ride an electric surfboard (e-foil).
Friends close to the couple noted an instant connection based on shared interests in travel, watersports, and entrepreneurship.
Echoes of Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron’s love story
The 20-year age gap has inevitably drawn direct comparisons to First Lady Brigitte Macron, 73, and President Emmanuel Macron, 48, who share a 25-year age difference.
Sources close to the family revealed that Brigitte Macron has fully embraced her daughter’s new partner, emphasising that her primary concern is her daughter’s happiness and personal fulfilment.
