Fuji music icon Wasiu “KWAM 1” Ayinde has once again found himself at the centre of public debate after a woman, identified as Ogechi Eleana, publicly accused him of fathering and abandoning her 12-year-old daughter, Azizat.
The controversy erupted following an interview Ms Eleana granted to Feel Right News TV, during which she detailed her history with the musician.
Ms Eleana claimed she worked as KWAM 1’s pedicurist and engaged in an intimate relationship with him that spanned over seven years.
According to her account, she became pregnant with her daughter during that period.
Allegations of abortion pressure and rejection
In her interview, Eleana alleged that when she informed the Fuji star about the pregnancy, he asked her to terminate it and offered to fund the medical procedure.
She claimed that after she refused his request, KWAM 1 cut off communication and blocked her.
“He told me to terminate the pregnancy, but I refused. Since then, he blocked my numbers and completely cut us off,” Ms Eleana stated during the interview.
She further claimed that she sought intervention through mutual acquaintances and even visited KWAM 1’s mother, who allegedly remarked on the child’s striking physical resemblance to the singer.
12-year-old daughter makes emotional appeal
Appearing alongside her mother in the viral video, 12-year-old Azizat—an aspiring performer—appealed directly to the musician for support and recognition, revealing that financial hardship had forced her out of school.
“I heard my father is a billionaire, but I am not seeing that reality,” Azizat said in the video clip. “I see him supporting other people with millions, but he refuses to come to my aid. My mother has been through a lot; he should come forward and help us.”
KWAM 1 responds
Responding to the viral allegations while performing at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Onikate of Ikate, Oba Lateef Adams, the veteran musician dismissed the claims without explicitly confirming or denying a past relationship with Ms Eleana.
In a video captured at the event and shared by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed, KWAM 1 brushed off the public outcry, suggesting that such claims were being exaggerated for social media attention.
“On your phone, turn on Bluetooth. Go to TikTok, then go to Facebook. Anybody who has an unnecessary pregnancy is just like a giveaway,” the musician remarked on stage. “These children, don’t kill me. Go and say it on TikTok and other social media platforms.”
