Veteran Nollywood actor Prince Jide Kosoko has strongly defended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appealing to Nigerians to exercise patience and grant the government more time to deliver on its economic reforms.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with FeelrightnewsTV, the iconic movie producer argued that judging the current administration prematurely is unfair, comparing governance to an ongoing construction site.

“If you are building a house, you cannot assess such a building and give it a pass mark until the building is completed,” Kosoko reasoned, asserting that policies require time to manifest real-world results.

‘Tinubu is not God’

Acknowledging the heavy criticism trailing the administration over soaring inflation and the high cost of living, Kosoko urged citizens to temper their expectations with reality.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not God. That means he cannot be perfect,” Kosoko stated.

The veteran actor claimed that the intense public anger against the government is being systematically manufactured and sustained by political opposition elements.

“Let me tell you, what those opposing Tinubu are projecting for you to say is what you will be saying,” he alleged. “What they have crafted that they want you to carry in your head is what you will carry.”

Kosoko fires shots at Gen Z and activists

Turning his attention to the younger demographic, the Nollywood star did not hold back. He directly addressed Nigeria’s Gen Z population, warning them that they are being weaponised as pawns by disgruntled politicians.

“They know you, Gen Z. You are easy to manipulate and control,” Kosoko cautioned. “Once they control you, you will all go on overdrive.”

The actor further launched a scathing attack on popular social activists who consistently criticise the federal government, accusing them of double standards and financial hypocrisy.

“The so-called activists, we know how they take money from the government but come out to influence citizens,” Kosoko alleged. “But when we talk, they accuse us of taking money to support the government. As if we don’t have a mind of our own, as if we don’t have family members suffering, or as if we are enjoying well.”

Palliatives not a sustainable solution

While validating the undeniable economic hardship ravaging families across the federation, Kosoko argued that throwing direct cash handouts at the public is not a realistic solution given Nigeria’s massive population.

Instead, he reiterated that long-term structural reforms are the only way forward and urged citizens to look past immediate political propaganda.
