Delta activist accuses police officer of forcing his own wife to record herself nude for his pleasure, blackmail

A human rights activist in Delta State has accused a serving police officer of allegedly coercing his own wife into creating intimate videos of herself for his pleasure and for blackmail.
Israel Joe, a Delta-based activist, made the allegations in a statement shared on Facebook, identifying the officer as ASP Mieyebo Victor, who is currently serving with the Delta State Police Command.
According to the activist, the officer was previously posted to Ondo State, where he reportedly met the woman, who later became his wife.
Joe claimed the couple have been married for about 21 years and have three children together.
He alleged that throughout the marriage, the officer repeatedly pressured his wife to record and send intimate videos of herself to satisfy his personal desires.
The activist further claimed that whenever she resisted, she was allegedly subjected to physical assault.
Joe also alleged that the situation deteriorated after the officer became suspicious that another man was communicating with his wife.
He reportedly accused her of infidelity and allegedly began circulating the private recordings to members of her family, as well as to alumni groups from her secondary school and university.
According to the activist, more than 50 intimate files were allegedly shared with various individuals, leaving the woman in severe emotional distress.
He further claimed that the woman had expressed suicidal thoughts following the alleged circulation of the videos.
The activist also accused the officer of physically assaulting and sexually violating his wife after she returned home during an attempt at reconciliation.
Joe claimed the matter was reported to the Area Commander in Ughelli, where the officer is said to be serving.
According to him, the senior police officer intervened by deleting numerous intimate videos allegedly stored on the officer’s mobile phone and advised that the device be reformatted.
Despite the intervention, Joe alleged that the harassment continued.
He said the woman was referred to him after disclosing that she was contemplating taking her own life due to the emotional trauma she had suffered.
The activist further stated that he had spoken directly with the accused officer, who allegedly expressed a desire to reconcile with his wife before the alleged distribution of the intimate videos resumed.
Joe has called on the Delta State Commissioner of Police to investigate the allegations thoroughly and ensure that anyone found culpable is held accountable in accordance with the law.
As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command had not issued an official statement responding to the allegations, and the claims remain unverified by independent authorities.
If confirmed, the allegations could amount to serious criminal offences under Nigerian law, including domestic violence, non-consensual distribution of intimate images, criminal intimidation, and other related offences.
Authorities are expected to investigate the claims to establish the facts surrounding the case.
