‘Fake’ DG’s father only took us to his new building site in Ogbomoso- Police
They deny arresting him

The police have denied arresting the father of Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi Mathew, the wanted self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The suspect’s elderly father, Pa Adetunji Ajayi Adeniyi, also confirmed that he was not maltreated or detained. He, however, disclosed that his family was terrified by the invasion of his house by the police.
Pa Adeniyi narrates midnight ordeal
Speaking on the development, Pa Adeniyi recounted how armed security operatives twice raided his Technical College area residence in Ogbomoso in the early hours of Saturday.
“We woke up, and my wife said, ‘Aren’t people within our compound?’ Then they started banging at the door and windows, that we should open the door,” the elderly man stated. “They had jumped over the fence, bending the barbed wire we installed. Those that jumped in now broke the padlock at the gate to allow others to gain entrance.”
The octogenarian alleged that the team conducted an aggressive search of the property, breaking open wardrobes and temporarily seizing his and his wife’s mobile phones. He further claimed that on Monday morning, operatives returned in three vehicles, causing panic in the neighbourhood, and whisked him away to the Sunsun Divisional Police Headquarters from 11:30 am until 5:00 pm.

“They were angry I didn’t know his whereabouts, that I don’t know where my son lives. I told them he lives in Abuja,” the father said, adding that he was not physically maltreated but was strictly questioned about his son, whom he described as a “gentle man who works under the government.”
Police dismiss arrest reports, reveal property search
In a swift reaction aimed at clearing the air over public concerns regarding “substituted arrests,” the Nigeria Police Force dismissed the narrative that the elderly man was detained or harassed.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, police personnel only visited the residence as part of a routine, procedurally sound fact-finding mission to gather information that could assist investigators in locating the wanted suspect.
The police emphasised that no formal arrest or detention of Adeyemi’s father took place.
In an interview granted to NTA Network News, the police spokesperson clarified the timeline, revealing that the suspect’s father actively assisted the investigative team by taking them to inspect a house that Prince Adeniyi was currently building in Ogbomoso.
The multi-billion naira executive scam
Prince Adeniyi became a prime target for federal security agencies after the Presidency formally disowned both the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council as completely fraudulent setups.
President Bola Tinubu subsequently ordered the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and police intelligence units to dismantle the rogue operations and apprehend all individuals falsely operating under executive clearance.
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, had earlier faulted the reported targeting of Pa Adeniyi, warning that there is no legal basis for substituted arrests in Nigeria.
