Despite being one-half of football’s most talked-about couple, influencer Tolami Benson has revealed she would bypass a loud public wedding in an instant if she had the choice.
Speaking with The Sunday Times Style, the 25-year-old fiancée of Arsenal and England forward Bukayo Saka opened up about keeping their upcoming nuptials entirely private, admitting she values intimacy over social media metrics.
“My mum would have a heart attack, but if I could elope, I would,” Benson shared. “I feel like it starts with you guys, it ends with you guys. Marriage is sacred.”
Tolami Benson prioritises privacy over “likes”
Benson and Saka, who began dating in 2020, took their relationship to a new public high in December 2025 following a high-profile engagement and an accompanying feature in Vogue.
Yet, despite her growing status as a digital creator, Benson remains firm that her wedding day will not be treated as online content.
“It’s nice to have things for yourself,” Benson explained. “I think weddings should be fun, so I’m not like, ‘Oh my gosh, I need to have the most Instagrammable wedding.'”
While she plans to keep the ceremony strictly low-key, she does not intend to hold back on the pre-wedding festivities. The influencer teased that she is fully intending to plan a “wild and chaotic,” old-school hen party.
From account management to redefining “WAG” culture
Benson’s profile has exploded over the past year. Holding a public relations degree from Birmingham City University, she transitioned from a full-time corporate career in account management to full-time fashion influencing.
Vogue recently credited the Hertfordshire-born creator with single-handedly “reviving WAG fever.”
Her distinct style frequently blends high-street pieces with custom designer touches that subtly pay homage to Saka’s career. Her recent highlights include:
River Island Edit: Hand-selecting a signature “cool-girl city style” fashion capsule collection launched in mid-2026.
Viral Custom Fashion: Turning heads in the stands with a bespoke Antonia Bronze leather biker jacket featuring the number 87—Saka’s initial squad number at Arsenal.
Supporting Bukayo Saka on the global stage
While Saka is currently away on international duty with England, she recently stepped out to support him at the New York City premiere of his new documentary, Bukayo Saka: The Time Is Now.
Directed by Emmy-winning Robert Alexander and streaming on Disney+, the film explores the immense pressure behind elite football, anchored heavily by the private network keeping Saka grounded. The documentary features rare commentary from those closest to him, including his parents, friends, and Benson herself.
