The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran actor, filmmaker, and comedian Okiki Adesina, popularly known as Janmole.
The respected entertainer reportedly lost his life in a fatal road accident on Monday, June 1, 2026, in a tragic development that has sent shockwaves through the Nollywood community and among his fans.
News of his passing was officially confirmed on Tuesday, June 2, by veteran filmmaker and President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan.
Mr. Latin announced the sad news through a post on his Instagram page, where he paid tribute to the late actor and extended his condolences to Janmole’s family, friends, and colleagues.
In his message, the TAMPAN president prayed for the repose of the actor’s soul and asked God to grant those he left behind the strength to cope with the painful loss.
“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace. May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed,” he wrote.
Janmole was widely known for his contributions to the Yoruba movie industry, where he built a reputation as a talented actor, comedian, and filmmaker.
His death adds to the growing list of losses that have recently affected Nigeria’s creative and entertainment sectors.
