Udoh, a former player for Southampton F.C. and Royal Antwerp F.C., who was holidaying in Nigeria, reportedly died in Abuja earlier this week under circumstances described as suspicious.
According to Paris-based sports journalist Ojora Babatunde, the 21-year-old winger may have died from suspected food or alcohol poisoning while spending time with friends during a holiday visit.
Sharing details on X, Babatunde stated that multiple reports linked the footballer’s death to suspected poisoning, although no official medical confirmation has been released.
He further alleged that the deceased player’s mother had taken steps to ensure that Victor’s friends and girlfriend were arrested in connection with the incident.
The arrests were reportedly carried out in Abuja as investigations into the footballer’s death continue.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement confirming the exact cause of death or the identities of those detained.
