A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after alleging that he was denied entry into Mauritius despite travelling with all the required documents for his vacation.

In a viral video shared on X by user @dammiedammie95, the man claimed he arrived in Mauritius for a holiday but was allegedly deported alongside other Nigerians after immigration checks.

According to him, immigration officials separated the travellers for questioning before eventually refusing them entry into the country.

“Mauritius declined our visa after we arrived. Everybody is chasing Nigerians out of their country,” he said in the video.

The man explained that he had already made several travel arrangements before departing Nigeria, including hotel reservations and bookings for tourist attractions.

He further claimed he travelled with all documents requested by immigration authorities, including proof of accommodation, a yellow fever vaccination card, proof of funds, and cash requirements.

“I already booked my hotel, a five-star hotel, and tourist centres. I have my yellow card and everything they asked for, including the requested cash, but they deported us because we are Nigerians,” he alleged.

The video has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the treatment of citizens abroad and discussing the country’s international image.

As of the time of this report, Mauritian authorities had not publicly responded to the allegations contained in the viral video.
