A Nigerian man identified as Kayode Ogunbodede has reportedly died in his sleep in Swansea, Wales, in the United Kingdom on May 26, 2026.
He was the one supporting his family as his wife is not working.
According to reports, the father of two passed away suddenly, leaving behind his wife—who is currently a student—and their two young daughters aged six years and six months.
A fundraising appeal launched by Olatunde Owoeye-Phoster on GoFundMe described his death as unexpected and deeply devastating for both his immediate family and members of the Nigerian community in the UK.
The appeal noted that Ogunbodede was a member of Elim City Church in Swansea as well as the Redeemed Christian Church of God, where he was remembered as a calm, supportive individual who was always willing to assist others.
Funds being raised are intended to support funeral arrangements, childcare, and general living expenses for the bereaved family. It was also noted that his wife is currently unemployed.
As of the time of the report, approximately £6,434 had been raised out of a £18,000 target to support the family during this difficult period.
Community members in the UK continue to share tributes and condolences as efforts to support the family continue.
