“Do DNA for your kids” — Nigerians react after Nollywood actor found out two of his 5 children are not his

Nigerians have called on veteran Nollywood actor Abdul Salam Taofeek, also known as Tioruju Mondusi, to conduct DNA tests on all his children after his wife told him two of his five kids are not biologically his own.
The actor had earlier shared his heartbreaking experience, recounting how the mother of his children allegedly confessed during an argument that his third and fifth children were not his.
Following the revelation, many Nigerians flooded X with emotional and controversial reactions, with several users urging men to carry out DNA tests on their children.
“One of the saddest things a man can experience,” one user wrote, while another warned that many homes could be thrown into crisis if widespread DNA tests were conducted.
“He should get DNA tests done. It is possible none of the kids belongs to him,” X user @Hakeem_Onitolo posted.
Another user, @blaqautomation, claimed the actor might still be in for “the biggest shock of his life,” suggesting that more children could allegedly be involved.
The story also reignited the popular “fear women” conversation online, with some users expressing distrust towards relationships and marriage.
“And there are still men out there who believe there’s a good Nigerian woman,” another reaction read.
Others, however, cautioned against using one painful family situation to generalise all women, arguing that both men and women are capable of betrayal in relationships.
It would be recalled that Tioruju Mondusi, popular in Yoruba movies, made the heartbreaking disclosure in an interview on African A-List.
Speaking during the candid interview, Mondusi said one person who hurt him the most in life was his wife, the mother of his children.
Narrating his ordeal, he said his heavily pregnant wife was away from home when he arrived from a trip.
The actor said that for about three to four days, his wife was nowhere to be found, but was taking his calls. He claimed she refused to disclose where she was.
He said he then decided to visit her mother’s house, where he noticed a photograph of her with another man displayed in the sitting room.
Although the woman’s mother quickly removed the picture, Mondusi said he had already seen it.
The actor said once he left his mother-in-law’s house, he called his wife in anger to find out what was happening, especially with what he saw in his mother-in-law’s apartment.
He recalled that his tone over the phone led to his wife coming home, where they continued their argument.
During the ensuing heated exchange, she allegedly questioned why he assumed he was responsible for the pregnancy she was carrying.
Shocked by her statement, Mondusi said he demanded clarification regarding the children he had raised. According to him, she then revealed that not all the children were biologically his.
“She said the first, Ibrahim and the second, Habeeb, are mine, but the third is not. The fourth is mine, and the fifth is not mine too,” the actor recounted.
Mondusi said the revelation devastated him, especially because he personally handled the naming ceremonies for all the children, believing they were his.
He also claimed to have been totally responsible for all the children without realising that two of them were not his.
