Viral video shows bloodied okada rider after alleged police shooting in Delta (watch)

A video circulating on social media has shown a bloodied man, identified as Aboy Odili, being rushed away by bystanders after an alleged police shooting incident in Asaba, Delta State.
The footage, recorded on May 5, reportedly captured Odili slumped over his red motorcycle with visible blood coming from what appeared to be a wound on his back. Eyewitnesses are seen lifting him and transporting him for urgent medical attention.
Social media users have linked the incident to officers of the Rapid Response Squad, amid claims that it may have occurred during an enforcement operation targeting commercial motorcyclists, commonly known as okada riders. However, these claims remain unverified.
The incident has reignited public concern in the state, coming just days after another reported case in which 28-year-old Mene Ogidi was allegedly shot dead by police officers in Effurun on April 26.
In that earlier incident, it was reported that Ogidi was shot openly at close range during an encounter with officers, even as he pleaded for his life.
The Nigeria Police Force had previously stated that officers involved in the Effurun shooting were withdrawn from duty and would face prosecution, though full details have not yet been made public.
As of the time of reporting, the condition of Aboy Odili remains unknown, and there has been no official statement from the Delta State Police Command regarding the latest incident.
