A Nigerian man, Maroof Afolabi, has stirred conversations on social media after sharing the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result of his underage daughter, Azeemah Kanyisola Afolabi.
The post, which surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), quickly gained traction as users reacted to the young candidate’s impressive performance in science subjects under the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examination.
According to the result screenshot shared by her father, Azeemah sat for four subjects—English Language, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry—and recorded notable scores across board.
She scored 71 in English Language, 74 in Biology, 98 in Physics, and 88 in Chemistry, with her Physics result in particular drawing widespread attention from users online.
The results were released shortly after the examination body announced the completion of marking and processing for candidates who participated in the 2026 UTME.
Afolabi, while sharing the result, expressed pride in his daughter’s achievement with a brief but emotional caption.
“My daughter who is underage. Alhamdullilahi,” he wrote.
The post has since gone viral, with many social media users commending the young girl’s academic ability, particularly her strong performance in core science subjects.
Others, however, raised questions about her age and readiness for tertiary education, sparking debates about early academic advancement.
The UTME, conducted annually by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, is a key requirement for admission into higher institutions in Nigeria.
While there is no strict prohibition against underage candidates sitting for the examination, admission into universities typically requires candidates to meet age and institutional criteria.
