The father of former Big Brother Naija star Angel Smith, Baron Meyagy, has broken his silence following a viral video allegedly showing his daughter being arrested in the United States.

The development has sparked widespread reactions online, coming at a time when the reality star is also entangled in a highly publicised marital dispute.

Baron Meyagy took to Instagram to express unwavering support for his daughter, dismissing the growing speculation with a message centred on family loyalty.

“Family stands by each other as a unit, irrespective of the circumstance. In the end, she’s FATHER’S DAUGHTER. I gotcha U Mummy,” he wrote.

The controversy gained traction after a video surfaced on social media, with users claiming it showed Angel being taken into custody by law enforcement authorities in the US. However, the authenticity of the clip and the identity of the individual involved have not been independently verified as of press time.

Despite the uncertainty, the footage has ignited intense debates across social platforms, with fans and critics offering varying interpretations of the incident.

The alleged arrest comes amid reports of a breakdown in Angel’s marriage to her partner, Tumininu. The relationship, which reportedly culminated in a private wedding in the United States, has now deteriorated publicly, with both parties making accusations.

Sources familiar with the situation indicate that the split may be linked to financial and emotional disagreements, further complicated by the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged arrest.

Tumininu is said to have initiated steps toward annulling the marriage, citing the unfolding issues as part of the reason for the decision.

She has reportedly demanded a $40,000 refund, an additional $8,000 for emotional distress, and the signing of annulment documents to formally dissolve the union.

The demands also allegedly include a legal agreement severing any immigration or financial ties between both parties.

As the situation continues to unfold, neither Angel Smith nor US authorities has issued an official statement confirming the alleged arrest.

The incident adds another layer of scrutiny to the reality star’s personal life, with observers awaiting verified details on both the legal claims and the marital dispute.
