Kunle Omosebi’s early life
Born into the family of Pa David Omosebi and Madam Felicia Omosebi of Ilesa, Osun State, the late Omosebi’s early life reflected modest beginnings shaped by hard work and enterprise.
As the eldest male child, he grew up shouldering responsibilities early, a trait that would later distinguish his academic and professional journey.
He began his education in Ilesa before proceeding to Wesley College, Ibadan, where he obtained his Teacher’s Grade II Certificate in 1962.

After a brief stint as a teacher, his passion for growth led him to pursue further studies through self-discipline, earning his General Certificate of Education with strong results in science subjects.
His NEPA journey
His career with NEPA started in 1964 as a clerk in Ibadan. Through determination and continuous learning, he rose through the ranks, obtaining a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Ibadan Polytechnic in 1967 and later a Higher National Diploma from Yaba College of Technology in 1972.
Over a distinguished 35-year career, Omosebi served in several strategic roles across the country, including Assistant Technical Officer, Service Engineer, District Engineer, Area Engineer and District Manager in key locations such as Lagos, Ibadan and Benin.
He eventually retired in December 1999 as District Manager (Distribution and Marketing) at the Ijora Business Unit.

Commitment to excellence
Known for his forward-thinking approach, he championed the adoption of emerging technologies, particularly computerisation, within the power sector during his time.
His commitment to excellence also saw him become a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), while further strengthening his leadership capacity with a management certificate from the University of Lagos.
Life in retirement
Following his retirement, Omosebi transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding DOT-K & Associates Limited, an electrical contracting and consultancy firm.
Under his leadership, the company executed projects for major corporate clients, including MTN and Globacom, as well as industrial firms within the Ota industrial axis, earning a reputation for quality and reliability.
His legacy
Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a devoted family man. He is survived by three of his siblings, children, grandchildren, and other family members.
He was also remembered for his quiet philanthropy and deep spirituality, often extending support to others without seeking recognition.
Friends and associates described him as humble, creative and principled, with a passion for mentoring younger professionals.
An enthusiast of American blues and jazz music, Omosebi also enjoyed playing table tennis in his younger years, reflecting a balanced life that combined hard work with personal interests.
Tributes poured in during the funeral, with many describing him as a trailblazer in Nigeria’s power sector and a man whose legacy of service and integrity would endure for generations.
He is remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the values he embodied — a life of purpose, humility and unwavering commitment to excellence.
