The Global Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, has apologised to Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) and the children of its late General Evangelist, Apostle Ayo Babalola, over his recent comments on the revered late evangelist.
CAC’s publicity director, Pastor Ade Alawode, had on Thursday, August 14, 2025, called out Fatoyinbo, accusing him of deriding Apostle Babalola as poor.
Alawode was reacting to the video of a sermon by Fatoyinbo, where he appeared to be asking sarcastically about what had become of the children of the late prophet.
He also appeared to suggest that Apostle Babalola was indeed called of God, but did not have money.
Defending himself in a statement late on Thursday, Fatoyinbo said he had no intention of deriding the revered father of faith.
The embattled pastor said the exploits of the late evangelist of CAC are too numerous to count.
He also said many of the churches in Nigeria take their DNA either directly or indirectly from the ministry and grace of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.
Fatoyinbo said he was also a beneficiary of the same grace. He expressed appreciation for every word, admonition and correction in the statement issued by CAC.
The COZA founder said he did not refer to Babalola’s children in a bad light and would never do so. He affirmed that they are serving God and keeping up the legacy of the late father of faith.
He said they are role models for children of visionaries to follow.
He then apologised for any of his remarks that might have angered the CAC or the family of the late Apostle Babalola.
