Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, KWAN 1, has caved in finally and offered an unreserved apology for his disruptive behaviour at the Abuja airport on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
The singer released a personally signed statement today apologising to all concerned, while maintaining that he only had water in his flask.
Ayinde also expressed his apology to ValueJet, the Presidency, and other stakeholders.
The Fuji maestro described the now famous event of Tuesday, 5 August, 2025, involving him and ValueJet ground staff and crew members at Abuja Airport as unfortunate.
He explained that he suffers from chronic dehydration, which led his doctor to advise him to remain constantly hydrated.
The Fuji maestro said that was why he always carries a water flask with him. He reiterated that the flask he carried on the said date was also water and not alcohol.
He said the CCTV should be reviewed to show that his flask was empty when he passed through two security screenings. He said he only filled it with water at the VIP lounge before trying to board the plane.
The musician also clarified that he was not deboarded because he had not even boarded the plane.
KWAM 1 acknowledged and expressed deep regret for the entire incident, saying it was never his intention to cause any disruption in any way.
He said he would never do anything to tarnish the image he had built over in the last 50 years.
“That said, the incident is sincerely regretted. I remain committed to upholding the values and responsibilities that come with being a global ambassador of Nigerian music and culture,” he said.
