The police in Abuja say they are investigating the circumstances leading to the death of a female fuel attendant, Grace Godwin, whose lifeless body was found by the roadside.

Godwin, 23, is believed to have fallen victim to one-chance robbery operators who killed her and then dumped her body by the roadside in the Jabi area of Abuja, FCT.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the FCT Command, Josephine Adeh, told the Punch investigation was already ongoing into the incident.

The gruesome murder of Godwin was first reported by security analyst, Zagzola Makama, in a tweet on Sunday.

According to the analyst, Makama was last seen boarding a commercial bus on Friday evening before she was discovered dead on Saturday.

Makama further revealed that the late Godwin’s body was discovered near Iya Abubakar Street around 6:00 a.m.

He disclosed further that she had boarded a commercial vehicle around 8:53 p.m. on Friday at Mabushi.

The bus turned out to be operated by a one-chance criminal gang, who later 11:56 that night contacted her family to demand a ransom.

He disclosed that police men from the Jabi Police Division visited the scene and rushed the victim to the National Hospital, where she was confirmed dead by doctors on duty.

Makama said the deceased’s family was contacted, and they had identified the body.

It would be recalled that a staff member of the Ghana High Commission, Freda Arnong, was similarly attacked in a cab by one chance operators.

They severely beat her to the extent that some of her internal organs were damaged.

She died in the hospital.
