A Ghanaian lady, Freda Arnong, said to be a staff of the Ghana High Commission in Abuja, has d!ed in the hospital after being severely be@ten by one-chance robbers.
Arnong was reportedly picked up by “one chance” robbers masquerading as legitimate cab operators around MTN’s office in Maitama on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
The suspects severely assaulted her and stripped her of all her valuables, including her iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The robbers reportedly drove her around for a while while perpetrating their evil act, and later dropped her off around the Stadium Bridge inbound Area 1.
Passers-by rushed to her aid and managed to get her to the hospital alive.
Arnong told the hospital staff what happened to her, and how she was mercilessly beaten by the robbers who allegedly told her they knew what they were doing was wrong, but had to do it to survive.
The victim recounted that the men told her they would ask for forgiveness later, but just had to do what they needed to do to make some money.
Arnong was believed to be recovering until Saturday morning, when she suddenly relapsed and passed away.
Her remains had been deposited at the National Hospital morgue, awaiting the arrival of her family members from Ghana.
Hospital sources said the lady, when she could talk, had expressed regret that she did not heed her mother’s advice to return to Ghana.
Arnong reportedly revealed that her mother had been apprehensive about her continued stay in Nigeria following the bad news she was hearing from the country.
The mother reportedly tried to persuade her daughter to give up her job and return to Ghana, but she convinced her mother that Abuja was safe.
Pictures of her battered body are too gory to be shared.
May her soul rest in peace.
