A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to accuse a Bolt driver of assault, property damage, and withholding her belongings following a disagreement over fare charges.
The woman, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @Ewatomilola_A, recounted the ordeal in a post where she claimed that the driver broke her newly installed side mirror during the dispute and refused to return a bag containing two pairs of sneakers that she accidentally left in the vehicle.
“Hello @boltapp, I ordered a ride from Arena on Friday and up till today, I’ve not recovered from the experience,” she wrote. “The driver broke the new mirror I just bought and charged me a ridiculous amount for the ride. I also forgot a bag containing two sneakers in his car, and he’s refusing to return it.”
She added that repeated attempts to contact the driver have been unsuccessful, as he allegedly ends her calls each time she tries to reach out.
Sharing a video of the driver and his vehicle, she pleaded with Bolt Nigeria to intervene and help retrieve her belongings, saying the entire incident started over a fare disagreement.
As of now, Bolt has not publicly responded to the complaint.
