The young Nigerian woman involved in a viral confrontation with a 50-year-old female InDrive driver has broken her silence, offering her perspective on what led to the heated exchange that sparked intense social media reactions.

Identified as @hermajestygem on TikTok, the lady shared a detailed video explaining the events that unfolded during the ride in Lagos.

She claimed the altercation began after she and her aunties boarded the vehicle and found some of the driver’s personal belongings taking up space in the boot and the back seat.

“We were actually happy to see a female driver, because that’s not something you see often,” she began.

However, she said the situation soured when they politely asked the driver to remove her items. According to her, the driver reacted with hostility.

“When my aunty said, ‘You know your personal belongings were not supposed to be in your car,’ she snapped and said, ‘Can’t you see I just came back from my other job? Besides, this is my car,’” she recounted.

The TikToker explained that the driver’s dismissive tone toward her elderly aunt was what provoked her own reaction.

“She responded to my aunty like that, and I took it up because you’ve disrespected my person, who is also an elderly one,” she stated.

Her aunt, who filmed the now-viral video, corroborated her story, saying the driver had been aggressive from the moment they entered the car, prompting her to start recording.

Responding to critics who accused her of being rude to an older person, the young woman stood by her actions.

“I guess you’re used to people talking to you anyhow because they’re older. Perhaps, if it was just me, I would’ve let it slide. But she was rude to my aunties first,” she said
