Dino Melaye calls for cancellation of election in 5 LGAs
Alleges compromise by INEC

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Dino Melaye, has called for the cancellation of the polls in five Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Melaye, who made the demand via his official X account, identified the affected LGAs as Okene, Okehi, Ajaokuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo.
According to Melaye, the election results from these LGAs have been compromised.
He insisted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must take decisive action by annulling the outcomes in the areas.
Dino, in his statement, asserted that the alleged irregularities were orchestrated at the highest level of INEC, describing the entire process in the concerned LGAs as a “scam.”
Meanwhile, some voters in Kogi protested against election malpractices in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State earlier in the morning.
The residents protested when they discovered that the result sheets were already filled when accreditation and voting had not commenced in the polling units.
A source who is monitoring the development told SaharaReporters that the election had been cancelled by INEC, but MSN cannot independently confirm this.
As of the time of filing this report, INEC has not issued an official statement in this regard.
Residents of Magongo in Ogori-Magongo local government area of Kogi State had earlier stormed Magongo RAC centre to allege that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in collaboration with the officials of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had already written results of the various polling units in the local government even before election had started.
