Lagos pastor and founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, has disclosed that the late Muhammadu Buhari did not authorise the invasion of the home of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Speaking in an interview on Television Continental’s programme, Beyond The Headlines, on Monday night, Bakare disclosed that he was angry with the former president for the raid on Igboho’s residence.

He said that before the incident, he refrained from publicly criticising Buhari because he enjoyed a close relationship with him and would often discuss with him.

However, when that raid happened, he said he publicly criticised it and declared during one of his ministrations in his church that he would never speak with Buhari again.

The cleric said Buhari then reached out to him to let him know he was not aware of the invasion.

According to him, Buhari explained some security agencies acted independently and attributed their actions to ‘orders from above”.

Responding to a question on Buhari’s handling of the economy, Bakare admitted that some of the policies introduced under Buhari’s government were ill-advised.

He pointed out, however, that it would not be right to blame the former president for the country’s economic woes.

He said the former president was not an expert on the economy, and that he appointed qualified people to handle the nation’s economy.

The outspoken cleric also condemned corruption within government agencies.

He singled out the case of the former Accountant-General of the Federation and the Pension Commission.

According to him, the Accountant-General ought to be in jail.

He said Buhari tried his best to tame corruption, but was up against some strong interests who found innovative ways of milking the system.

The post ‘Buhari said he did not authorise invasion of Igboho’s home’- Tunde Bakare first appeared on MicroSecondNews.

President Bola Tinubu has called for a special Federal Executive Council session in honour of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away today, July 13, 2025.

The meeting is slated for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24, 2025.

President Tinubu, in a tribute to the late Buhari, expressed deep sorrow over his passing.

He vowed that the Federal Government would accord him (Buhari) full state honours befitting his glowing contributions to Nigeria.

Tinubu described Buhari as a patriot, a soldier and a statesman. He said his legacy of service and sacrifice would endure after him.

The president wrote of Buhari: “He served Nigeria with unwavering dedication, first as a military leader from January 1984 to August 1985, and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023. Duty, honour, and a deep commitment to the unity and progress of our nation defined his life.

“He stood firm through the most turbulent times, leading with quiet strength, profound integrity, and an unshakable belief in Nigeria’s potential. He championed discipline in public service, confronted corruption head-on, and placed the country above personal interest at every turn.

“In this moment of national mourning, I extend my deepest condolences to his beloved wife, Aisha, with whom I have been in constant touch, his children, the entire Buhari family, and all who knew and loved him.

“I also extend my condolences to the government and people of Katsina State, most especially the people and traditional leaders of Daura Emirate.

“We honour his service. We reflect on his legacy. And we pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.

“As a mark of respect to our former leader, I have directed that all national flags fly at half-staff across the country for seven days from today.

“I have also summoned an emergency Federal Executive Council session on Tuesday, dedicated to his honour.

“The Federal Government will accord President Buhari full state honours befitting his towering contributions to our country.

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.”

The post Tinubu holds emergency FEC meeting in honour of late Buhari on Tuesday first appeared on MicroSecondNews.

The Federal Government has proposed to spend the sum of N393,661,239 on the ongoing construction of the presidential wing of the State House Medical Centre at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja in 2023.

This was disclosed in the budget proposal of N20.51 trillion presented by President Buhari to the joint session of the National Assembly last Friday for the 2023 fiscal year.

Interestingly, the State House clinic is not used by President Buhari in spite of the huge funds voted to the medical centre every year.

President Buhari visits London, United Kingdom for his medical treatments.

In 2017, the wife of the president, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari made headlines when she openly berated the management of the State House Clinic for not equipping the clinic with as little as a syringe. She said when she visited, there was no single syringe.

President Buhari’s daughter, Zahra made a similar observation on her Instagram handle some time ago. She called out the Permanent Secretary of the State House Clinic, Jalal Arabi, for not being able to provide ‘ordinary paracetamol’ in the clinic even though N331.7 million was allocated to the State House Clinic in that year’s budget.

Sahara Reporters reported that in 2020 and 2021, the sums of N416.6 million and N1.06 billion were budgeted respectively for the construction of the Presidential (VIP) Wing of the State House Clinic, and as at March this year, the Permanent Secretary, State House, Tijanni Umar, confirmed the money had already been paid in full.

The Permanent Secretary, Umar also disclosed that out of the N20.8 billion allocated for the same project in the 2022 budget, the federal government had paid N8.5 billion.

It, therefore, means that between 2020 and 2022, at least the sum of N10 billion has been spent on the construction of the Presidential Wing of the State House Clinic.

The post State House clinic never used by Buhari gets additional N394m in 2023 budget first appeared on MicroSecondNews.

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has issued a press release to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his visit to him in London.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari visited Tinubu in London on Thursday, August 12 before his return flight to Nigeria.

Tinubu’s Media Office in a statement on Friday night described the visit as “a friendly and welcome one”.

“Mr. President has, again, demonstrated his personal thoughtfulness and humility; defying the erroneous commentaries peddled by his critics.”
