Nigerian musician, Panshak Zamani, better known as Ice Prince, spoke after spending six days in Ikoyi prison.

Recall that the rapper had a brush with the law on September 2 when he allegedly assaulted a policeman while returning late from a club in Lagos.

He was arraigned and remanded in Ikoyi Prison. He was later granted bail in the sum of N500,000, in addition to providing “two responsible sureties.”

He perfected his bail about a week ago.

On Thursday night, September 15, he took to Instagram to tweet:

“Freedom is priceless.”

The ‘Oleku’ crooner will return to the court later to clear himself from n a three-count charge bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out his statutory duties, and abduction.

A magistrate court sitting in the Ajah area of Lagos has ordered the remand of hip-hop recording artist, Ice Prince Zamani at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

Ice Prince was arrested earlier today for allegedly assaulting an officer and threatening to throw him in the river after he was arrested for driving without licence plate.

The Lagos State Police Command arraigned the singer on a three-count charge of assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out his statutory duties and abduction.

When the counts were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Taiwo Oyaniyi subsequently granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 and he is also to provide the court with two responsible sureties. The Magistrate ordered that he be remanded in the correctional center until he fulfills his bail condition. He then adjourned further proceedings in the case till September 7.

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this on Twitter wrote: “At 3 am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
