A Lagos Magistrate Court in Yaba has cleared Nigerian singer Naira Marley, music promoter Sammy Larry, and Prime Boy of any involvement in the death of singer Mohbad.
Mohbad, who passed away on September 24, 2023, left the Nigerian entertainment industry in mourning, with several speculations surrounding the cause of his death.
Following months of investigations and legal proceedings, the court ruled on February 25, 2025, dismissing all allegations against Naira Marley, Sammy Larry, and Prime Boy.
Despite earlier suspicions, the circumstances of Mohbad’s death remain unclear.
While clearing the trio, the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) revealed plans to prosecute Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad before his death, alongside Ayobami Sodiq, a close friend of the late singer.
The ruling has sparked mixed reactions online:
