Armed bandits have k!lled the son of a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and abducted his wife in Mararaba, a Nasarawa State community, neighbouring Abuja.

Daily Trust reported that the cleric, Ifeji Ausin Oha, was attacked by heavily armed bandits in his home at Gwagwalade, Mararaba in the early hours of Monday, February 9.

The bandits reportedly inflicted machete cuts on the head of the house but he managed to escape, forcing them to abduct his wife.

The son, Augustine Onyechisoka Evans, could not bear the sight of the men going with his mother and stood up to defend her but was shot by the kidnappers.

They further inflicted machete cuts on him in the presence of his other siblings to ensure he never survived.

The armed bandits reportedly demanded for N30 million ransom to release the mother of the slain boy who is said to be the only son of the family.

The couple have three female children.

“He did not like how they were manhandling his mother and confronted the kidnappers and they shot him.”

The Spokesperson of the Nasarawa State Police Command, SP Rahman Nansel, said the command was not aware of the incident.

The bereaved family has made an obituary poster for the slain teenager who will be laid to rest on February 19, 2025 in their hometown, Mgbidi Enugu State.
