Dismembered body of lady found inside sack in Ogun

Policemen in Ogun State have begun an investigation after a dismembered body of a yet-to-be-identified female was found inside a sack in the Ogijo community of the state.

The Ogun State Police Command said in a statement that the dismembered female corpse was found on February 16.

“On February 16, 2025, at about 1510hrs, the Chairman of Sedu 2 Community, Ogijo, and two other community members, reported to the Ogijo Police Division that they had discovered an unidentified female, describing the features as light complexion, about thirty years and above, and fresh body in a fenced farmland within the community.

Upon receiving the report, detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), swiftly mobilized to the scene. On Police officers’ arrival, they found the female corpse without a head and two hands, wrapped in a sack.”

The police said their investigation indicated that the body was dumped there.

They cordoned off the crime scene and transported the remains to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for preservation and further forensic examination.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has requested his officers to get to the root of the matter.

He called on parents and guardians to engage their children in security discussions at home.

Ogunlowo emphasized the importance of vigilance and community cooperation in tackling crime.
