The family of an expectant father are crying for justice for their late son Moduga Mojeed Igbayitayo, who was picked up from his apartment in Lagos following a disagreement he had with a female neighbour.

An X user, Mobolaji, posted the sad news on the microblogging platform, tagging police authorities.

According to Mobolaji, the gentleman had a misunderstanding with his lady neighbour and when they thought the matter had died down, some policemen came to his apartment in Chevron to arrest him.

When they were driving out of the estate, the estate manager reportedly questioned the men why they were taking out the man and the police reportedly explained that it was in connection with a minor disagreement he had with his neighbor.

The manager was reportedly assured that he would be back as soon as he wrote a statement and answered some questions.

When he did not return as promised the Estate Manager reportedly went to Ikota Police Station where the policemen claimed to be from.

When he got there, the officer manning the counter reportedly told him there was no Moduga Mojeed Igbayitayo in their custody.

The manager then left for his house disappointed.

Mobolaji narrated that the following day, when the heavily pregnant wife who had gone to her father-in-law’s house in Ikorodu could not establish phone contact with her husband, she called the estate manager to help check his apartment.

It was then the estate manager narrated what he saw to the wife, who immediately mobilized their relatives to the police station.

At the police station, they reportedly denied knowing the deceased. But when a sibling of the deceased began to shout, someone reportedly admitted that the deceased was indeed arrested but that the IPO in charge of the case was not available.

When the IPO was called, he reportedly said he had just been transferred to Ajah and that the sister of the deceased should come over to Ajah police station.

It was at Ajah Police Station they broke the news to the sister that Mojeed was lying stone cold in at Epe General Hospital mortuary.

The family are asking questions about how someone they arrested Hale and Hearty became a lifeless body on a cold slate in the mortuary.

The police are yet to respond officially.
