The Plateau State Police Command has announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with the death of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Safwan Adamu Fade.

The incident occurred in Pankshin Local Government Area.

According to Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Adesina, on January 22, 2025, at approximately 6:00 PM, Fade, who was serving at the Federal College of Education in Pankshin, was assaulted by a group of individuals at the Pankshin township stadium.

He sustained severe injuries from the attack.

Following the assault, officers from the Pankshin division responded promptly, transporting Fade to a nearby hospital where he was initially stabilized.

Due to arising complications, he was later transferred to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

Despite medical efforts, Fade succumbed to his injuries.

Through investigative efforts, two suspects, identified as Samuel Dang Kat and Zatshinen Wubwerwe, were arrested in connection with the case.

Police Commissioner, Adesina, emphasized that efforts were ongoing to apprehend additional suspects involved in the incident.
