A Zimbabwe woman, Joyce Garikay, has dragged her husband to court in Harare for erratic and abusive behaviour, including using chillis during their s3xual encounters, which caused her severe health complications.
The wife, Joyce Garikay, sought the protection of the Harare Civil Court, from her husband, Jack Mukandwe.
Joyce alleged that despite her protestations, Jack continued with his unconventional practice of incorporating chilli into their intimate moments, leaving her with severe discomfort and persistent itching.
“My privates are now reacting and always itching as a result of the chilli my husband uses in what he claims is a way to spice up our s3x encounters. Each time I refuse, he insults me, saying my father’s goblins are the ones sleeping with me,” Joyce disclosed to the court.
Interestingly, Jack did not deny the claims. He explained that he was experimenting with the practice after learning about it from friends who claimed to use similar methods in their relationships.
Joyce further accused her husband of physical and emotional abuse, disclosing that he frequently assaulted her with an electricity cable and insulted her in front of their children.
She accused Jack of erratic behaviour including removing asbestos from their roof whenever he was angry.
Joyce disclosed that she packed out of the house for her safety but he continued to stalk and harass her.
Jack, again, did not deny any of the allegations, but apologized for his past violent actions, blaming it on his short temper.
He implored his wife to return to him as he was prepared to work on himself for their marriage to last, but Joyce expressed scepticism.
Magistrate Meenal Naratom ruled in Joyce’s favour, granting her request for a protection order against Jack.
The court said it was important to safeguard Joyce against further harm.
