The mother of the three children k!lled and stuffed in a deep freezer in Nnewi, Anambra State has recounted the harrowing moment the bodies of her late children were recovered from a deep freezer in their home.
It would be recalled that three children, Ejezie Chikaima Daviana,9, Ejezie Chimdirim David, 5, Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica, 8, were found killed and stuffed in a deep freezer in their apartment in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Their mother, Mrs. Ejezie, a nurse tutor, in an interview with NTA, recalled that she went for an exam on the fateful day.
She said she left the children with their breakfast and lunch before departing for the exam venue after giving them instructions on when to eat their lunch.
She recalled that when she came back into the apartment, she met it open, which was unlike them.
She explained that by the time she arrived, they were supposed to have gone to their church for a practice as they did every Saturday and they would have locked the door before leaving, with the key hidden in a pre-arranged spot.
She said she went inside the house and noticed that they had not taken their lunch. Mrs Ejezie said she searched all over the house and inquired from neighbours but could not trace the kids
She then went to their church where she saw other children packing the chairs they used for their practice.
She recalled that she then ran to the priest to narrate her experience and the priest accompanied her back home.
She recalled that it was when she returned home that she met a neighbour coming out of their apartment in a distraught state.
The neighbor was called aside by the priest and the news was broken to him before it was finally broken to Mrs Ejezie that the bodies of her children had been found inside the deep freezer.
The building where the Ejezies live has now been sealed off by the police, with the occupants temporarily relocated, to enable the police to conduct an investigation into the k!lling of the children.
The father of the children, Udochukwu Ejezie in his interview with NTA disclosed that the late kids were brilliant and promising.
He said his eldest girl was the most brilliant in her class and was well-known in her school for her brilliance.
He called on the government to fish out the killers.
The Ejezies are now left with only one son, who is currently in seminary school in Ukpor.
Meanwhile, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, has pledged that the state government would get to the root of the matter.
She said this when she paid the family a visit at the crime scene on Wednesday.
She said the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo was aware of the incident and had pledged that justice would be secured for the deceased.
