Mr. Francis Van-Lare, the father-in-law of Dr. Ikenna Erinne, who shot himself to de@th in the United States of America, has accused the late medical doctor of being irresponsible.

He said he k!lled himself to avoid paying $1,900 for the support of his two kids one of whom has special needs and attends an expensive school.

Recall that Dr. Erinne, a Nigerian cardiologist based in the US, ended his life on Jan. 26 after allegedly holding his ex-wife and children hostage for about three hours.

Initial report, mainly fuelled by is friends, claimed that the late doctor took the drastic step because he lost a custody case and was asked to pay child support of $15,000 per month.

They also alleged that his licence to practice as a medical doctor was revoked.

However, Van-Lare, the father of his estranged wife debunked most of the claims. He said his licence was not revoked in any state in the US.

Van-Lare claimed the late doctor was asked to pay $1,900 per month as child support, not the $15,000 being peddled online.

He shared bank statements showing how much the deceased paid per month adding that for some months, the payments were not made fully. He called him a “dead beat dad” (irresponsible dad).

The father-in-law also shared court details of the case between the deceased doctor and his daughter Suzette Chibuogu Van-Lare.

The court document showed that the late doctor was ordered not to contact Van-Lare’s daughter, not to abuse her, and to stay away from the children and their school.

The case type was listed as “domestic violence”.

Van-Lare said the late cardiologist did not bring his wife from Nigeria and was not responsible for training her in school in America.

He said his daughter was born and raised in the United States. He described his daughter as brilliant and athlectic who secured a full scholarship on account of her athletic prowess.

He said his daughter was a practising medical doctor in the US and was not to blame for her ex-husband’s drastic action.
