Port Harcourt school principal dragged online for inflicting injury on new student (Videos)
The principal of CSS Rumuepirikom, Port Harcourt, is being dragged online for inflicting injury on a new female student who wore the wrong sportswear on her first day in school.
The principal, a woman, whose name was not provided allegedly asked the new student to lie down while she flogged her.
Narrating her ordeal to her older sibling, the student said she was first reprimanded by a school teacher and asked to return home.
She said she then pleaded with the teacher that she was a new student and did not yet have sportswear from the school.
She said it was at that point that the principal asked her to go and get her a cane and she went and collected the cane and took it to her.
She said to her surprise, the woman asked her to lie down and started flogging her even as she explained that she was a new student and that it was her first day in the school.
The new student sustained bruises on her arms in the process, leading her older siblings to go to the school to get redress.
When confronted, the principal said she resorted to caning the student because she challenged her after a teacher tried to send her home.
The siblings who recorded the entire interaction with the principal expressed their dissatisfaction with the treatment given to the girl.
They asked her to define what she meant by ‘challenge’, but the principal who referred to the student as a ‘rat’ even in the presence of her older siblings said she would not be defending herself with the pupil right there in the same room.
In the end she apologized for inflicting injuries on the girl.
It was established that the girl wore the sportswear at her former school in Kokori to her new school in Port Harcourt.
Netizens were, however, displeased with the calm composure of the older siblings and the attitude of the principal, which they tagged rude.
Many argued that even if she wore the sportswear of her old school to a new school it was not enough reason to brutalise her the way the principal did.
