Woman uses heated metal to inflict injur!es on 15-year-old houseboy’s genit@ls for allegedly molesting her children
The police in Edo State have arrested a woman for inflicting injuries on a teenager working as a domestic help in her house.
According to a statement released by the Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Moses Yamu, the woman used metal objects heated in a fire to inflict bodily injur!es on the boy.
On January 11, 2025, at about 19:45 hours, the Command received a report that Abigail Oluwarotimi, aged 31, heated a metal object in a fire and used it to inflict burns on her house help, Jude Joseph, aged 15. As a result, the victim sustained injuries on his lap and genit@ls.
The command said the suspect was promptly arrested, and she confessed to the crime. She blamed her actions on the allegation that the boy m0lested her children. The victim is currently receiving treatment.
The statement said the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Umoru Ozigi, has shown concern about the development and has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough and discreet investigation. The command warned the public against taking laws into their hands while emphasising the importance of allowing the law to take its course.
