Doctors referred my boy to ear specialists after Lagos teacher’s repeated slaps- Mother (Video)

The mother of the three-year-old boy, Abayomi Michael, who a nursery school teacher repeatedly slapped in Lagos, has disclosed that the doctors at the General Hospital referred the boy to specialist doctors after they examined the ear of the little boy.

In an interview she granted a citizen journalist, Abayomi’s mother, Mrs Adenike Okunlaya, said the doctors feared that the ear might have been affected. They gave her a reference letter to take him to see ear and throat specialists.

Okunlaya who is a widow said she also worked at Christ-Miltos Primary School, Ikorodu, Lagos, where Mrs Stella Nwadigo assaulted her son.

She said she was in the school when the assault took place, but she had no inkling it was her son who was being assaulted until a colleague forwarded the video of the assault to her.

She said she was not happy with the incident and she sent the video to a friend from where it was posted online.

When asked if she challenged the teacher or reported the matter to the school authorities, she said she did not.

She said she showed the video to her pastor who reported the case to the headmistress.

Okunlaya confirmed that the affected teacher was suspended by the school authorities because they had always warned that the should never beat the pupils.

She also said Mrs Nwadigo had a history of beating kids, adding that her child had previously complained about her beating him.

Okunlaya said she lost her husband about three years ago after having their first child, Abayomi.

Since then, she said she had been fending for herself by doing menial jobs in addition to her employment at Christ Miltos School.
