The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed the circulation of an AI-generated image of him as an Alhaji on social media.
Adeboye mentioned the image during the first Holy Ghost Service of the Year on Saturday, January 3 to 4, 2025.
The controversial image, which surfaced in late December, showed Pastor Adeboye dressed in Islamic attire and seemingly in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The picture was originally circulated by X user @Sarkideyforyou, the post, which was accompanied by the caption, “Pastor Adeboye may Allah guide you to the right path,” garnered significant attention, with over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes as of December 22, 2024.
Speaking about mockers, Pastor Adeboye predicted that many would not survive the year.
He then said:
“I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.”
