Nigerian woman expresses sadness as lady her brother sponsored through university is set to marry another man
A Facebook user, Blezzy Acha from Benue State has expressed sadness at the news of the impending marriage of her brother’s ex-girlfriend.
According to her, the brother sponsored the lady’s education at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, in the hope of marrying her afterwards.
However, in a sad turn of fate, the lady is getting married to someone else on December 28.
When her brother was criticised by a Facebook user who read the post for sponsoring a lady he was not married to, Acha clarified that her brother visited the lady’s family to inform them of her intention to marry her before committing to sponsoring her education.
She wrote:
“Some Oju girls get mind shaa. Person wey my brother trained for Uniagric won wed on the 28th Dec 2024.”
Responding to a comment, she wrote:
“It wasn’t a joke. My brother came home and made his intention known to her mother and siblings before he committed himself.”
Others commented about the risk of spending too much on people who have not yet entered into a binding marriage contract.
