A Nigerian activist, Comrade Abiodun Olamide Thomas, also known as “Horlarmidey Africano,” has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force after voicing concerns about police misconduct.
According to SaharaReporters, Thomas had previously expressed fears for her safety, alleging that ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer, was targeting her.
On Friday, December 13, sources told the media outlet that she was “abducted” from her home in the Somolu area of Lagos after police initially detained her brother the day before to track her down.
According to the report, she was taken to the Alade police station and later transferred to the State Command in Ikeja, where she remains in custody. The police released her brother after he was used as leverage during the operation.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed her arrest.
