A gorgeous 28-year-old widow accused of murdering her 77-year-old husband just three months after their marriage has been acquitted.
Saki Sudo, a Japanese model, was charged with killing Kosuke Nozaki, a wealthy businessman, through a mysterious drug overdose in 2018.
Prosecutors alleged that Sudo searched terms such as “perfect crime” and “elderly death” prior to her husband’s demise.
Nozaki, known as the “Don Juan of Kishu,” was found unresponsive at his home in Wakayama Prefecture, reportedly from acute poisoning caused by a drug he did not use himself.
Despite these claims, the court ruled that the evidence presented was insufficient to convict Sudo.
The defence argued that there was no conclusive proof linking her to the alleged crime, and the prosecution failed to establish intent beyond reasonable doubt.
The case has drawn global attention due to its bizarre circumstances and Nozaki’s reputation as a flamboyant figure.
While Sudo’s acquittal marks the end of a six-year legal battle, questions about Nozaki’s death remain unanswered.
