Rosemary Oromoni, the mother of the 12-year-old boy, Sylvester Oromoni, who d!ed after being allegedly bullied by his Dowen College schoolmates in 2021 has passed away.
Mrs Oromoni has reportedly suffered ill health since the traumatic loss of her son in controversial circumstances.
The late Rosemary Oromoni still testified in October 2023 at the coroner’s inquest set up to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of her son, Sylvester.
At the hearing, she broke down in tears completely, leading the magistrate to call for a recess to enable her to regain composure.
At the end of the hearing, the coroner cleared Dowen and the accused persons, declaring that Sylvester’s death was natural.
Now, two years after Sylvester’s death, Rosemary has also passed away, throwing the family into another season of mourning.
She reportedly succumbed to health complications arising from the heartbreak and trauma of losing her son.
“For over two years, Mrs. Oromoni endured an overwhelming burden of grief,” a family source told the media.
The source said the emotional toll of losing her son deeply affected her health and she reportedly died on Monday 25, November, 2024..
“Despite medical care and the unwavering support of her family, she struggled to recover. Her sorrow was described as all-consuming, with many observing her inability to eat, sleep, or resume daily life.
“Her condition worsened until she succumbed to complications on Monday, 25th November 2024.”
