Police at checkpoint

A commuter has documented a dramatic standoff on the Lagos-Benin Expressway between a group of police officers and commercial drivers employed by a transport company.

It was learnt that one of the policemen smashed the rear window of a bus belonging to God Is Good Motors.

The rest of the buses of the same company were used to block the expressway to protest the incident.

The drivers insisted on being paid “₦350,000” to repair the shattered window.

Their firm stance paid off, as the police officers eventually yielded and made the payment.
