United States President-elect Donald Trump has selected tech billionaire Elon Musk and conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy to spearhead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Trump’s statement, released on November 12, emphasized that this department will be tasked with streamlining federal operations and reducing governmental waste.

“Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will dismantle bureaucratic inefficiencies, cut excessive regulations, and make transformative changes in federal agencies,” Trump announced, adding that this initiative aligns with his “Save America” agenda.

Trump, who won the 2024 presidential election against Kamala Harris, expressed confidence in Musk and Ramaswamy’s abilities to bring an “entrepreneurial approach” to Washington, working alongside the White House and Office of Management and Budget.

The goal is to complete this mission by July 4, 2026, marking America’s 250th Independence anniversary.

The initiative, Trump noted, will focus on driving out waste and fraud from the government’s annual $6.5 trillion spending.

Musk, an outspoken Trump supporter and owner of companies like Tesla and Starlink, played a significant role in Trump’s campaign, donating $75 million to a pro-Trump group.

Other notable appointments in Trump’s administration include:

Lee Zeldin – Environmental Protection Agency Administrator

Mike Waltz – National Security Advisor

Susie Wiles – White House Chief of Staff

Tom Homan – Border Czar

Elise Stefanik – Ambassador to the United Nations

Stephen Miller – Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy
