British supermodel Georgina Cooper, known as the “original gap-toothed girl” of 1990s fashion, has tragically passed away at the age of 46 while on the Greek island of Kos, just months after marrying her husband, Nigel.
Cooper, who was visiting Kos with her husband, fell seriously ill and was flown by air ambulance to Crete for intensive care.
She spent five days in the hospital before passing away, and her body was flown back to England last week.
Cooper, who rose to fame as a teenager and graced the covers of US Vogue and The Face, left the modeling world years ago to focus on raising her son, Sonny, and recently worked in hospitality in Kent.
She married Nigel in a heartfelt ceremony near her home in Maidstone, Kent, in June 2024, and the couple honeymooned in Kos, capturing their joyful memories online.
Her former agent, Dean Goodman, shared that Cooper had faced health challenges since the pandemic but was excited about her future.
Tributes from friends, including models Jade Parfitt, Erin O’Connor, Jodie Kidd, and Helena Christensen, poured in, celebrating her as a “ray of light” and a “genuine superstar” who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.
