Police to try landlord for manslaughter after his dogs allegedly ‘killed security guard’ in Lagos
The police in Lagos have arrested the owner of the dogs that allegedly mauled a security guard in a residential estate in Lekki area.
The incident reportedly happened inside Pinnock Beach Estate, Lekki, Lagos.
Scanty information about the incident is supplied online. A video which hit social media on Tuesday shows three dogs wandering freely over the lifeless body of a man.
Narratives attached to the video indicated that the man was a security guard at the estate and was attacked by the dogs, that escaped from their owner’s property.
Lagos Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin has confirmed the incident.
He disclosed that the owner of the dogs had been arrested. He attached a section of the constitution which deals with manslaughter to his post on X.
“Dog owner has been arrested and is in our custody,” he said in the post.
