A House of Representatives member, Honourable Alex Mascot Ikwechegh is currently trending over an altercation with a Bolt driver in his residence in Abuja.

The video shows the angry lawmaker abusing the driver for allegedly coming into his house to disrespect him.

He called the driver a rat and threatened to make him disappear from Nigeria without a trace and “nothing will happen”.

Trouble started after the driver took a parcel to the lawmaker’s residence and asked him to come to the car to collect it.

The lawmaker took offence at this and accused the driver of being disrespectful.

The Honourable member, representing the Aba North and South Federal Constituency asked the driver if he was being disrespectful because he saw him seated in a chair outside.

He refused to pay the driver while the latter insisted on collecting money for the service rendered. The altercation degenerated into the lawmaker threatening to beat the driver up and then proceeded to slap him twice on camera.

A second video shows the driver sitting in his car topless, claiming that the lawmaker shredded his shirt in addition to slapping him thrice.

The lawmaker admitted to the camera that he slapped him twice.

The video has generated a lot of comments online, with people criticizing the lawmaker for oppressing the driver.

A few however pointed out that the driver triggered the situation by being rude and not completing his assignment.

They pointed out that sitting in his car and asking the man to come over to pick up his package was rude.
