Nigerian international and Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface, was not part of his team’s training on Monday following his involvement in a car accident on Sunday.
Boniface’s Mercedes Benz collided with a truck on the A3 highway, en route to Frankfurt Airport, where he was to pick up a friend.
Despite the shocking nature of the accident, Boniface escaped with minor injuries to his hand and was seen at the club’s facilities the following day.
However, he did not participate in the training session, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming matches, including the Europa League clash against Brest.
Bayer Leverkusen officials have assured that the striker is doing well but may be given a brief break to fully recover.
His participation in future games remains uncertain, as the club prioritizes his full recovery.
The accident has not only caused Boniface to miss training but could also lead to him sitting out the next few fixtures, depending on how his recovery progresses in the coming days.
