A 17-year-old student of the University of Nigeria (UNN), Joy Eze, has reportedly been beaten to death by unknown assailants.
Eze reportedly left her room for lectures ad never returned to her room. Her corpse was later recovered with tell-tale signs of violence.
The news was broken on social media by popular human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu.
He disclosed that it was not the first such incident, citing at least two other related incidents in the institution.
He recollected how a girl was called from the school to pick up a parcel sent to her but was later kidnapped and how a young man was also kidnapped from the school.
Harrison criticised the institution’s management for trying to cover up the incidents instead of doing something to stamp the evil out.
He warned parents with daughters in UNN to call them and caution them about how the conduct themselves on campus.
‘’If you have a daughter in UNN, call her and hold her ears. A lot of things are happening in that school and the school authority are not doing enough to see how they can manage it. and the ones happening, they cover it up. This girl went for lecture and never returned back.
If you have a child in that school, caution them. Talk to them!”
