Oyedepo’s deputies, Abioye, Aremu bow out next week

Two long-serving Vice Presidents of the Living Faith Church, Bishops David Abioye and Thomas Aremu, will officially retire next week after serving for over three and four decades, respectively.

According to sources within the church, their retirement is in line with a recent revision to the church’s operational manual, The Mandate, which reduced the retirement age for senior officials from 60 to 55 years.

A church member from the headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, confirmed that the bishops’ retirement will coincide with the celebration of Bishop David Oyedepo’s birthday.

The member also noted that this retirement rule applies to all leaders except Bishop Oyedepo, who remains in his position for life.

Efforts to confirm the development through official church channels were unsuccessful. Bishop Abioye, 63, and Bishop Aremu, 67, will have farewell services at their respective churches on October 15 in Ibadan and October 18 in Abuja.

Bishop Abioye was among the pioneers of the church, while Bishop Aremu transitioned from a career in accounting to full-time ministry.
