The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said it had commenced pre-enforcement action on Starlink for unilaterally reviewing its subscription packages upwards.
In a statement by NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, the commission said it did not give approval to Starlink before the company hiked its prices.
“The action of the company is in contravention of Sections 108 and 111 of the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003, and Starlink’s Licence Conditions regarding tariffs,” the commission said.
NCC further disclosed that pre-enforcement action on the licensee was commenced on the 3rd of October, 2024.
